Hi everyone. Tomorrow you will receive an update with instructions showing you how to download your digital rewards. But ahead of tomorrow's release date, I wanted to share some exciting news!

Roll & Play Press

It gives me great pleasure to announce the launch of Roll & Play Press - an independent publishing company dedicated to producing creative, fun and useful content designed to enhance your tabletop RPG gaming experience.

Having spent the past 6 years working in publishing as a professional book designer for gaming and entertainment brands including LEGO, Disney, Marvel and Blizzard, I'm super excited to be able to establish something new within the RPG community. I'm very fortunate that my wife, Kay, will be helping me out with keeping the business side of things running alongside her day job. She worked in the finance sector for a few years before training as a lawyer, so together our skills are a great match. We never expected that we would go from playing in campaigns together to setting up an RPG content publisher – but here we are!

Roll & Play: The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit was the first in a long line of products we are planning, and we can't wait to bring you even more content in our unique, easy-to-use, graphic style! Some of these products will be within the Roll & Play series (like The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit), and others will be brand-new concepts and gaming companions.

Post Campaign Update #4: SHIPPING BEGINS!

Hi everyone,

The day is upon us – the books have now been printed and delivered to our logistics company, who are beginning the shipping process. Over the next week or so you will begin receiving tracking numbers for your packages, these will be sent to your email or phone number (or both) depending on the information you provided during your survey.

After receiving your tracking number, you can roughly expect delivery within the windows below:

• United Kingdom: 3-5 days
• EU/United States: 7-10 days
• Rest of World: 10-14 days

With the ongoing pandemic, please bear in mind that these times may vary.

If you do not receive a tracking number by Friday 6th November, please reach out and I will look into this for you.

This is a really exciting time, and I can't wait to hear what you think about your products! When you receive your order please share a photo, tag us and use the hashtag #rollandplaybook on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

Fulfilment of pre-order backers (and backers whose surveys were completed after the Lock Addresses date) will begin on the 16th November. The above delivery windows will also apply.

We will be distributing all digital products on Monday 2nd November, and instructions for how to download your products will be sent out in another update nearer the time.

Addresses Locked 12th October

Hi everyone,

This is a reminder that your address will be locked on Monday 12th October 09:30BST / 01:30PDT.

For anyone who is still yet to fill out a backer survey: if you do not fill out your survey before the address locking date, your order will be delayed and your name will not feature on the Acknowledgements page. If you cannot find your survey, please head over to BackerKit's survey recovery portal here.

Please make sure the address you are happy for your books to be delivered to is the current one being used on your BackerKit profile. You can check your account details by going to www.backerkit.com and clicking 'I am a Backer'. If you will be moving house in November when your books will be delivered, then please enter an alternative address (this could be your workplace, a relative etc.) If you have any queries about this, or are having issues changing your address, please send me a Kickstarter message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Once your addresses have been locked you will be entered into our logistics system, and over the next couple of weeks you will start to receive the tracking numbers for your shipments. I will keep you posted with how this process is going, and when it will begin.

IMPORTANT: Roll & Play Schedule

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well.

I am really happy to announce that the project is currently ahead of schedule by a few weeks, and is progressing really well. Instead of a mid-December delivery, the estimated dates have been brought forward to ship in early November for a mid-November delivery. Because of this, there will be some alterations to the upcoming deadlines (assuming there are no major changes due to the current pandemic).

Acknowledgements Page and Postage

If you haven't filled out your survey, please do so before I lock the addresses. If your survey is incomplete at that stage, and I do not have your address, I will be unable to feature your name on the Acknowledgements page (as this information is collected during the survey) and there will be a delay in shipping your products.

Locking Addresses

Originally I was going to lock addresses on the 9th October, but this will be pushed back to the 12th October. I wanted to give everyone some time to review their addresses in light of the slightly earlier shipping date, I will send you a further reminder when this date is approaching. If you are unsure where you will be based over the next few months, I would recommend having the book delivered to someone you know or to your workplace instead. 

Digital Delivery

The PDF versions of Roll & Play (including the Digital Wallpapers and Generator Card PDFs) will be released to backers on the 2nd November. Each backer will receive a coupon code on that date, which they can use on our website to redeem their digital products – more about the website in a future update, stay tuned! I am also working to bring the release of the 4 New Playable Races and the Campaign Builder forward as well, as these were originally planned to be released in January.

Virtual D&D Sessions

I will be sending out forms to Mind Flayer level backers soon. This will ask you questions about the kind of adventure you would like to have, and some questions about the characters/players who will be participating. The sessions will be later this year, and I will contact these backers separately soon.

Signed Books

With the overwhelming response that Roll & Play has received, signing copies by hand will not be possible without having to delay the project (I wouldn't be able to fit 3,000 copies into my house!) However, all backers who were receiving signed copies will receive a limited edition version of the book which has been digitally signed by me. These books will be marked as 'Limited Edition' on the front cover, have a full-colour inside jacket which gives them a special finish, and also have no barcode or price on the back cover. These will not be available anywhere else. 

Pre-Orders

Bringing the schedule forward is great news for those who have pre-ordered as well. The launch of Roll & Play will happen later this year, and not March 2021 as previously estimated. Your products will be shipped towards the end of November, for an early December delivery – so you should have your books in time for Christmas!

Post Campaign Update #3: Moving Towards Production

Hello everyone!

Incomplete Surveys

Thank you to everyone who has filled out their surveys since the last update. We still have 200 outstanding, so if you haven't filled out yours please do so now (check your junk emails, head over to BackerKit's survey recovery platform, or contact me if you're not sure). Unfortunately, if you do not complete your survey, our fulfilment partner will not be able to send out your copy of Roll & Play at the same time as the rest of the backers, and I will have to ship your books early next year instead.  

Project Progress

The project is progressing really well, and the first draft of the book is currently with the proofreader for their mark-ups and sense checks. That first draft also includes the 5 exclusive generator cards – the samples arrived last week, and they look great! They are going to be such a useful tool to clip to your GM screen; I am especially looking forward to using the Weather Forecast d100 card in my games whenever the players begin a new day. 

I received the full shipment of bookmarks from the printer last week too! I can't wait to begin sending these out with the books, I know you're going to love them.

We are still on track to begin sending the digital and physical versions of the books out at the end of November. I will confirm the official release date in a future update. Your physical packages should arrive in early/mid December (depending on your location).

Name Change

You might have noticed from the bookmarks, the project is now called Roll & Play: The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit, rather than The Game Master's Tabletop Toolkit. This iteration of Roll & Play is just one of the books which I have planned, and is fantasy-centric. Later versions will explore all kinds of genres!

Locking Addresses

Time is marching on, and it is now only 2 and a half weeks until I lock addresses and move into the manufacturing phase of production. If you have moved house (or are about to) but haven't updated your address in your BackerKit account then please do this before the 9th of October. After this point addresses will be locked, and I cannot guarantee that any address changes will be taken into account afterwards.
