(Closing Update) Roll & Play: The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit

Hi everyone,

I wanted to update you on the current status of Roll & Play: The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit. We received backing from a whopping 7,596 backers and sent around 6,000 packages worldwide. The demand for this book blew us away, and it turned into an incredible first step for the newly founded Roll & Play Press.

There are currently 156 BackerKit surveys that are outstanding from backers – if you haven't yet filled out your survey, please do so you can receive your rewards! If you are in this group but have lost your original email, you can generate a new survey here. 4 surveys were submitted in the last week, and your rewards will be shipping to you very soon. There are 3 pledges that are still failing payment, these backers have been contacted and asked to update their payment information.

If for some reason your Roll & Play book hasn't arrived and we haven't been alerted to the situation, please contact us at [email protected] (or send me a Kickstarter message) so I can look into this for you as soon as possible. I understand that customs in certain regions, particularly South America, have been taking quite a while to process packages, but I'm pleased to hear more of these have been reaching backers over the last couple of weeks. If there are any unresolved problems that I am not aware of, please let me know.

Apart from the above, I am not aware of any other issues with reward delivery, so I am very excited to mark this project as fulfilled!

Thank you all for this amazing adventure, it has been a lot of hard work and learning, but I have loved every second of it – I hope that this shines through in the books you have received.

IMPORTANT: Global Shipping Update

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a nice weekend.

I wanted to send an update today to backers who have queries about the delivery progress of their Roll & Play packages. First of all, thank you for your patience! I know it can be frustrating seeing other backers receiving their packages while you wait. I can confirm that all packages were shipped out from our logistics warehouse between 27 October and 2nd November, starting with those going furthest from the UK.

Over the last week I have been in regular contact with our logistics company to get a better understanding about the progress of any outstanding packages. Unfortunately, it seems that the new lockdown restrictions that began in the UK last week have caused some delays within the processing centres as well as causing some flight routes to be limited; this means that packages are taking longer to get through delivery systems and over borders. There also appears to be a delay in the tracking updates, meaning they are not always giving accurate reports – your package may be further along than it appears. I can confirm that the tracking entry which says "Shipment Data Uploaded" shows the date that your package left the warehouse. 

Please do bear with us! We are hoping to get everyone their books by mid-November as planned, but I will of course keep you updated if we foresee any significant delays. I'm pleased to have received messages from some backers as far as Australia who have received their books, so rest assured they are making their way around the world. I'm hopeful that if you haven't received your physical rewards already, they will be with you soon.

Pre-orders will still be dispatched on the 16th November.

Post Campaign Update #5: Tracking Numbers

Hi everyone,

It has been SO exciting to hear from the backers who have received their parcels! If you have received your books, I would love to hear from you. You can reach out to me by Kickstarter message or send a photo to Roll & Play Press' Instagram, Facebook or Twitter pages.

We shipped the packages with ROW (Rest of World) addresses first, then US, then UK to stagger deliveries and make sure everyone received them at roughly the same time – so, if you haven't got yours, it should be with you soon.

Tracking Numbers

You should have received a tracking number from our global couriers, but if you haven't, you can follow these steps to keep up-to-date with your package.

Step 1) Log into your backer account on backerkit.com

Step 2) Click on your Roll & Play: The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit pledge. This project may be appearing in your 'Past Projects' tab at the top of the screen. We have marked it as shipped, so BackerKit mark the project as complete.

Step 3) In the 'Track Your Package' and 'Shipping Info' sections, you will be able to see your tracking number and your shipping address. If you are in a ROW or US territory, you can use Landmark Global's tracking service to track your package. If you are in the UK, you can use Royal Mail's tracking service.

Your tracking data will give you an idea of where your package is, and when you can expect to receive it.

Yesterday's Digital Launch

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was a big day with the launch of the digital products! I was blown away by the enthusiasm and messages of support I received from backers, it really is so appreciated. Around 2,000 people have already downloaded their rewards and I hope you are enjoying them so far, please let me know if you have tried them out.

Digital fulfilment has been a huge logistical project, with thousands of people receiving different combinations of digital reward items. The system I have put in place means that I can get the right products to the right backers with watermarks, whilst having direct access to the backend website in order to resolve any issues and customer queries directly. The coupons will not expire until November 2021, so if you have multiple PDF versions of the book and other PDF products you may prefer to download them as and when you need them, following the same process.

I’ve received a handful of queries, most of these cover similar points so please check these out: 

Roll & Play Printer-Optimised PDFs

There was an issue with upload of the Printer-Optimised PDFs, which pushed the margins to the left when downloaded. This was resolved around 15:00GMT, so anyone who downloaded after this time would be fine. If you downloaded your Printer-Optimised PDF at the start of the day and have this issue with your PDF, please send me a direct message on Kickstarter and I’ll send you a coupon for a free replacement.

Missing BackerKit Coupon Codes

If you have not received the BackerKit email with your coupon codes, please follow these steps to try and troubleshoot the problem: 1) Log in to your backer account on backerkit.com 2) Click on your Roll & Play: Fantasy Toolkit pledge 3) Click on Digital Downloads/Get Your Digital Downloads depending whether you are viewing on desktop or mobile. In most cases you will be able to find a copy of your codes on this panel. If not, please contact Backerkit support who should be able to resolve this for you.

Coupon Codes Not Working

• Please be sure to put the coupon codes in the ‘coupon’ field not the ‘gift card’ field. 

• If you received codes from BackerKit which started with ??? symbols, please ignore these symbols when copying the codes and just use the letters and numbers.

• I would recommend checking out both the step-by-step screenshots and the instructions provided on the Kickstarter: Pledge Ticket page before beginning the process.

Physical Order Tracking Numbers

For those waiting for physical orders, the tracking numbers are still coming through throughout the rest of this week. Please keep an eye out for these, you will receive your tracking number soon. 

After sending this update there may be a spike in traffic to the website – we’ve boosted server capacity but if you do have issues with speed, please try again in a short while.

How To Download Your Digital Rewards

Hi everyone,

The day is finally here, your digital downloads are now available! By now, you should have received an email from BackerKit with a list of unique coupon codes (please check your junk email), these codes will allow you to download your rewards through our website. The instructions on how to claim your items are included in the link sent to you by BackerKit, but I am also including them below for your reference.

If you have backed this Kickstarter as a gift for someone else, I would recommend sending them the coupon codes and the instructions as all digital downloads are watermarked with the name and email address of the user redeeming the coupon. These watermarks appear in the top margin of each page, and are unobtrusive.

 How to download your digital rewards:

• On the Roll & Play Press website, add the Kickstarter: Pledge Ticket to your Basket (via this link www.rollandplaypress.com/product/kickstarter-pledge)
• Go to your Basket.
• One at a time, enter the unique coupon codes sent to you via BackerKit. Make sure you add these to the Coupon field, do not add them to the Gift Card field as they will not work. 
• After you have added all of your coupon codes, click Proceed to Checkout.
• Add your details to create your Roll & Play Press account (where you can download your products) and click Place Order.
• Once you place your order, links to your new digital downloads will appear on your screen. These links will also be attached to your order confirmation email. Clicking these links will download products to your device.
• You can also access your digital downloads any time from the Downloads panel in the My Account section of this website.
